- Short: Shows memory fragmentation via gfx
- Uploader: thor@einstein.math.tu-berlin.de (Thomas Richter)
- Author: thor@einstein.math.tu-berlin.de (Thomas Richter)
- Type: util/moni
- Version: 2.08
- Requires: Any Amiga, V39 recommended but not required.
-
- Almost unlike all other memory meters, ShowMem does NOT display the total
- number of bytes available (this is done by the workbench anyways), but
- displays all free memory chunks in a graphical way. Hence the degree of
- fragmentation and the size of available memory is very easy to see.

- Changes made for 2.08:
-
- Due to some math overflows, ShowMem failed if just
- too much memory is in the system. This has been fixed as ShowMem
- uses now even 64 bit math for some calculations. Remember that this
- program was written in 1993....
-
- Changes made for 2.07:
-
- The bottom border memory count could run into the window by as
- much as one pixel for larger fonts. Fixed.
-
- Changes made for 2.06:
-
- ShowMem could possibly mess the window border in worst case. Fixed.
-
- Changes made for 2.05:
-
- Made the colors for the display configurable, but this requires
- V39.
-
- Changes made for 2.04:
-
- Fixed a stupid bug that could have caused enforcer hits in
- very rare cases (in case the number of MemHeaders changed while
- ShowMem was investigating this list).
- Added a dummy BeginRefresh/EndRefresh to be 100% Intuition
- conformal.
- Re-arranged the AllocMem/FreeMem patches to be able to run
- ShowMem with MemSniff installed. However, please note that
- in general MemSniff DOES NOT allow any patches on top of its
- own patch, ShowMem is an exception.
-
- Changes made for 2.03:
-
- Forgot to set a flag correctly, AUTOADJUST did not work.
- Fixed!
-
- Changes made for 2.02:
-
- Passed illegal parameters to the RectFill() call. Ooops!
-
- Changes made for 2.01:
-
- Added LEFTEDGE/TOPEDGE/WIDTH/HEIGHT tooltypes to be able to re-
- position the window freely.
